Virtual Storehouse
Bible Societies have long been successful at translating and distributing scripture to people groups in their home country. However, due to logistical and publishing constraints, people located outside of their home country frequently have no access to scripture in their mother tongue. Not only scripture, but other essential resources such as Bible studies, commentaries, devotionals and dictionaries, are also unaccessible.
Each of those immigrants who have settled outside of their home country or region, represents a potentially unreached market. A significant, growing market, which has been generally overlooked -until now.
THE NEED: Scripture Availability
The map below provides an excellent graphic representation of the extent of this cultural migration and the growing, widespread diversity that results.
To see the migratory activity for a particular country, select "Global" on the map navigation. Then, select various countries to see the total numbers of people entering and leaving that country.
Select "Focused" on the map navigation, then click on your desired country as the focal point [The focal country will turn green]. Then place your cursor over other countries to see how many immigrants have migrated from that country to your country of focus.
View our interactive worldmap to see why delivering scripture to a particular country may not be effective at reaching a large portion of that people group.
We invite you to contact us today to see how you can join with us to connect the disconnected with the Bible and foreign language resources.
THE SOLUTION: Print When and Where the Need Is
Virtual Storehouse has developed technology to print Bibles, studies, devotionals, learning resources -one at a time, in the language and in the location when and where the need is.
THE STEPS: Permission, Preservation, Provision
To make scripture available in a specific translation in a specific location, the copyright holder must allow it to be printed, the translation must be digitally preserved, and a properly equipped print facility must exist.
PERMISSION: Printing scripture one book at a time, local to the consumer rather than in large lots and distributing from warehouses is as significant a shift in thinking as Gutenberg's printing press. More...
PRESERVATION: Less than 1% of all translations have been digitally preserved reliably enough for the copyright holder to confidently print based on their digitally archived files. As a part of the process of making scripture available, Virtual Storehouse preserves translations in verfied digital form. More...
PROVISION: Support the establishment of print facilities that make printing Bibles one at a time possible. A print facility becomes possible in a country with commitments to support the donation or sale of 25,000 New Testaments in any combination of translations. More...
