Essential Resources
"We exist to store, distribute, and make available scripture, discipleship, and ministry resources in print and digital form to impact people around the world, and to secure and preserve those resources for generations to come."
In order to succeed in our mission as outlined above, essential resources are required in multiple languages and multiple locations around the world. Essential resources cover a wide range of categories, but for this platform we will look at two very important categories - Functional and Practical resources. With scripture at the center of these resources, they are not only essential, but critical.
Functional Resources:
- Translation. Virtual Storehouse can provide project management and work flow tools to aid in the translation process. These tools will enable Biblical scholars, language experts, translators and technicians to work in a shared environment and manage approvals and communications throughout the translation process.
- Encoding. Thousands of trained volunteers are ready, willing and able to encode scripture files. Virtual Storehouse can provide the tools necessary for encoding. Access and permissions are needed in order to begin to encode the files.
- Typesetting. Since all aspects of file translation and preparation are managed in a single environment, file changes are captured and immediately applied to the working text using Virtual Storehouse software. The software tools are designed to re-calculate and flow all updates and changes to insure quality lay-out throughout the process.
- Editing. As edits are made and approved, the workflow software automatically typesets the scripture text and insures that anyone working on the file has the most recent version available. Therefore, all changes are captured and archived for future reference.
- Printing. With Virtual Storehouse, scripture text may be rendered and made available for traditional print runs. At the same time, scripture text or portions of scripture text may be allocated to a distributed, on-demand print network as described as part in our Strategy section.
Practical Resources:
- Greek-Hebrew Dictionary
- Bible Studies
- Devotionals
- Commentaries
- Systematic Theology
- Exegeticals
Virtual Storehouse is committed to tracking and communicating status in an effort to coordinate a focused effort for the greatest impact. The data below is a representation of current progress and areas of need, as well as scripture related content that we describe as "Essential Resources".
